Before going into the Week 8 game picks, let's look back at last week's games because some of these matchups were absolutely unreal. From Ashton Jenty's Heisman performance to Oregon's upsetting Ohio State, last week was an entertaining weekend.
#17 Boise State dominates against Hawaii
I first believed that Travis Hunter was going to be the Heisman for this season, but I changed my mind. My pick for the Heisman is Ashton Jeanty. He is a certified “Prime Time Player.” Jeanty walked all over Hawaii with 217 rushing yards and 1 touchdown with 31 carries. Right now, Jeanty has 1,248 rushing yards total, which is absolutely absurd. I would not be surprised if he reached 2000 yards by the end of the season. At this point, I am pretty confident that he will.

#1 Texas wins the Red River Rivalry
I was not surprised here. I knew the Longhorns were going to get the job done. However, I was not expecting Texas to beat up Oklahoma that badly. 34-3? The Sooners did not even score a touchdown. Texas is looking better than ever. Going into the upcoming weekend, Texas is looking to stay undefeated as they face their toughest matchup of the season, the Georgia Bulldogs. With a potential win over the Bulldogs, Texas could see themselves competing to win their first SEC conference title.

Oregon Upsets Ohio State
This matchup right here was the game of the week. This had to be the most entertaining game I watched in a while. I’d put it in the same rankings as the Alabama vs Georgia Game or the Alabama vs Vanderbilt game. Dillion Gabriel led the Ducks to victory with 341 yards and two touchdowns. Ohio State’s Quarterback, Will Howard, did not disappoint either. He finished with 326 yards and two touchdowns. Oregon is looking to stay undefeated with their matchup this week against Purdue. Ohio State will be looking to bounce back with their matchup against Nebraska.

Week 8 Picks
Obvious Wins
#2 Oregon vs Purdue
Prediction: Oregon Beats Purdue.
Reason: Oregon is looking dangerous. I do not see Purdue bringing down the Ducks this weekend. I got the Oregon Ducks to destroy Purdue.
Virginia vs #10 Clemson
Prediction: Clemson dominates Virginia.
Reason: Clemson is looking stronger each week. Despite Virginia's winning record, they are a sub-par team in the ACC. I do not see Virginia making any trouble for the Clemson Tigers. I got the Clemson Tigers.
Competitive Matchups
#7 Alabama vs #11 Tennessee
Prediction: Alabama escapes with the win.
Reason: With Bama escaping with a win over South Carolina, Bama needs to lock in, or they might see themselves rolling out of the top 10 rankings. Despite Alabama looking a bit weaker in recent games, I think this weekend could show us an Alabama team we saw in the early weeks. I have the Crimson Tide rolling past Tennessee.
#6 Miami FL vs Louisville
Prediction: Miami survives against Louisville.
Reason: I would have put this game in the obvious wins category. However, Miami has had a couple of close games against teams that should have been absolute blowouts. I do not see Louisville winning this game, but Miami is not going to dominate. I have Miami winning by a touchdown.
#1 Texas vs #5 Georgia
Prediction: Texas comes out on top against Georgia
Reason: This is the game of the week. This game will prove who is the top dog in the SEC Conference and in the college football rankings. I do not necessarily think this will tell us who the national champion is, but it could show us a glimpse of a possible bowl game matchup in the college football playoffs. Despite Georgia only having one loss to Alabama, the Bulldogs still look very dangerous. Georgia might be the best team to give Texas a run for their money, but Texas is looking amazing this year. I am expecting an absolute shoot-out this weekend. I got the Texas Longhorns over the Georgia Bulldogs. Hook’em!

Potential Upset
#24 Michigan vs #22 Illinois
Prediction: Michigan upsets Illinois
Reason: While most people will be surprised by the fact that Illinois is ranked higher than the Michigan Wolverines, all I am going to say is that I do not make the rules of rankings. While Michigan has not been playing their best compared to their undefeated season last year, I expect them to beat Illinois. I would be extremely shocked if Illinois comes up with the win. While I question Michigan’s offensive strength in the Big 10 conference, I believe this will be a solid with for Michigan to keep themselves in the top 25 rankings.
